Our Safety Training Programs also include Wellness Programming
in topics such as
Certification Training
Receiving certification in CPR and First Aid requires
three things of a participant:
1) attendance and participation throughout
the entire session;
2) successful demonstration of the
psychomotor skills learned (such as chest compressions and rescue
breathing); and,
3) completion of a written test with
a score of 80 percent or better.
Written tests include multiple versions and re-testing
may be an option. Accommodations are made for those with difficulty
reading or language.

WE OFFER CLASSES
IN SPANISH
FOR BI-LINGUAL GROUPS.
All of our training programs meet national standards under the “Emergency
Cardiac Care Guidelines” as last revised in 2000. We
offer certifications from both the American
Red Cross and the National Safety Council
Our classes meet quality standards of ratios of students per instructor;
ratios of equipment to students; the use of videos (classes are video
driven to ensure standardization of skills and knowledge); health
standards (use of breathing barriers and gloves), and materials.
Instructors follow a pre-established curriculum, adding skills and
knowledge in a specific sequence. A typical CPR class include:
-
How to recognize an emergency and implement an
emergency action plan
-
Initial assessment of conscious and unconscious
persons
-
Choking assists for the conscious and unconscious
person
-
Rescue breathing

Adult CPR)

Emergency Response for Pets
Why classes in Pet First Aid? There is no 911 system for
common emergencies for pets and domesticated animals. You the pet owner
or Good Samaritan may be the quickest or only support for an animal
in distress. What can you do? Pet First Aid classes are modeled after
proven classes in First Aid and CPR response to humans.
We provide trained instructors who offer classes that
are 4 hours in length, include hands-on practice and provide a certification
of completion to program participants.
Learn:
-
CPR for cats and dogs
-
Stopping severe bleeding
-
Choking assists
-
Immobilizing broken bones and injuries
-
Detecting serious illnesses
-
Avoidance and treatment of heat stroke
-
What to do if your pet is hit by a car
Class materials include books developed in conjunction
with sources such as The Humane Society of the United States and American
Board of Veterinarian Practitioners. We use dog and cat manikins with
lungs for practice in rescue breathing and CPR.
